I decided to make this post because I heard people on the server complaining about their connections and how that affected their gameplays.
A few years ago , I found this guy Panjno who makes great FPS tutorials to help other gamers bring their machines to their full potentials. I did all of the tutorials that promissed to help me getting a more stable framerate and a better connection worldwide...
Windows 10 ultimate perfomance guide : (follow all the steps)
Windows 7 perfomance guide : (skip the anti-virus if you allready have one)
Internet Improvement via TCP Optimizer : (This one will help alot with your connections!)
Overclock your GPU : ( be carefull with this one , do as he says)
Nvidia Control Panel optimization :
AMD Control Panel optimization :
Easy services optimizer : easy-service-optimizer.en.lo4d.com/windows (Don´t know if it works on windows 7 ; What this does is it automatically disables all of the services that are unecessary for your machine and it gives a decent framerate boost)
For last I will share with you some configurations for your Day of Defeat game , that will 100% improve your shots and possibly your FPS´S.
1 : Setup your in-game console . Go to Steam-Library-Right click on DoD:S-Properties-Set launch options and type ... -console -novid
2 : Open DoD:S and type this commands on your console (one by one) : rate 80000 \ cl_interp 0.1 \ cl_interp_ratio 1 (these commands will improve your hitboxes)
3 (ONLY V-SYNC OFF AND MULTICORE RENDERING ON FOR MEDIUM-END PCS!) : Change your video-settings , personnaly I go with the default resolution of my screen but the lower your resolution , higher will be your FPS ( don´t go bellow 1024x768 or you will have troubles seeing enemies at far distances) ; After changing your resolution (if you chose to do it) go to advanced video settings and make sure you have the following :
Model detail : LOW ; Texture detail: LOW ; shader detail : LOW ; Shadow detail : LOW ; Color corretion : DISABLED; Antialiasing Mode : NONE ; Filtering Mode : BILINEAR; Wait for V-Sync (THIS ONE IS CRITICAL!) : OFF ; Multicore Rendering (ALSO CRITICAL!) : ENABLED ; Motion blur : DISABLED [This
Settings will give you a huge fps boost but will cost you "the graphical power of the game". Even for those with medium end and high-end pcs you should disable v-sync and enable multicore rendering]
I want to assure everyone whose suspcious about the programs or even the commands that all of them are legit and free of anykind of viruses or anything that might damage your computer or get you banned on steam. All the Tweaks are meant to make your system faster and give your game the correct parameters to have the greatest connection to online servers.
I´m not any kind of computer technician , but I´m an ex-hardcore gamer who has searched alot on the internet for FPS boosts until I found these guides and programs that have helped me so far , and all that you are seeing on this tutorial I use it.
Great games and Have fun! Peace
